The company was founded by Mike Shelley, our CEO, who started it as a class project during his MBA, making and selling paracord bracelets. Over time, SGT KNOTS has expanded to become a large distributor of all types of rope and cordage, and is now located in Statesville, NC, about an hour north of Charlotte.

Our Tarred Line is a strong, twisted construction carefully dyed black. The tarring process ensures the color is permanent and never fades, even during rigorous outdoor activities. This Low-Flex Twine can handle heavy loads and friction, with low-stretch properties that prevent sagging, slipping, or distortion under exertion. The evenly spun fibers allow the bank line to grip tightly, forming knots of superior strength, with a smooth finish provided by the double-twisted fibers.

Tarred Twine is an all-purpose utility twine perfect for many indoor and outdoor applications. We use a unique process to pressure-dye the twine black, ensuring color penetration down to the core. The protective tar coating amplifies the twine's resistance to environmental wear and tear.

Made from 100% Nylon, one of the strongest and most popular materials for ropes, cords, and twines, our Tarred Twine is highly resistant to moisture, temperature, chemicals, UV rays, abrasions, and most weather. Nylon's flexible, slightly stretchy properties provide shock absorption for heavy load bearings, and it performs better and lasts longer than natural rope fibers like cotton and manila.

Available in 1/4 pound or 1 pound quantities, the Twine diameter and weight selection will determine the length, ranging from 120 feet to 1680 feet. The Twine diameter option range is #9 (1.07mm) to #120, and Black is the only color option.
